After selling our custom home, we purchased an 'irregular" home on a lake. As is typical with this type of house, it had begun as a cottage and had grown over the years. The house had it's challenges to say the least. There was a hall that went to nothing, a water heater sitting in the kitchen, and a bathroom whose door couldn't open all the way due to an ill placed vanity. The floor plan at best could be called "random". When we first toured the house, my husband entered about 10 feet, turned and walked out declaring the house to be beyond redemption. The view of the lake, however, won out over the challenges of the house and we made an offer.
The day we signed on the house, Stephanie from Jensina group, met with us to begin the remolding plan. She had immediate ideas on how to begin the reconfiguration of the home to make the greatest use of it's space. The biggest challenge was to incorporate my husbands 'modern' taste with my desire for a "Nantucket Cottage" feel. Those who have been through a major renovation will understand the statement that at times, Stephanie had the dual role of "Designer" and "Marriage Counselor". Stephanie was able to capture the elements of both style preferences and put together a design that is an expression of both of us.
We love our home and are so appriciative of Stephanie's talents in helping us acheive our own unique look.
