Mr. Costa has over thirty-six years (since 1967) of experience in the original design of interiors and lighting for residential, commercial, restaurant, nightclub, and institutional settings. His projects have ranged from a nightclub with a seventy six foot diameter planetarium dome over the dance floor, to the first full-scale light show in a computerized car wash, to the interior design of health spas, medical and law offices, full-service grocery stores, and many private homes. He has appeared in Who's Who in Interior Design since 1992 and Who's Who in Executives and Business since 1995. His projects have been published in Interior Design, Interiors, Hospitality Design, Floorcovering Magazine, Northern Ohio Live, and other magazines.

In January 1991 incorporated under the name of The Interiors Group with partner Shirley Bosko to do primarily space planning and interior design. Projects completed: Various residential projects, The Spohn Corporation, Casa di Borally's Party Center, Doctors' offices, Law offices, etc. This company was dissolved in 1993. Under Joe Costa & Assoc. designed various residential projects, the Circus in the Flats, restaurants, night clubs, etc. In 1993 joined Holzheimer Interiors for fourteen months. Resigned from that company in 1994, and continued with Joe Costa & Associates. Projects since then include three locations for bw-3 (a national chain of restaurants / pubs / sports bars), redesign for Memoirs Lounge, Slam Jams Solon, Michael's Restaurant, The Moosehead Saloon, Giorgio's Restaurant, etc. Current projects include three restaurants, one night club, one tavern, one doctors' office, and residential projects.
